about us

The Asian Law Students Association (ALSA) is an academic, professional, community service and social law student organization dedicated to cultivating a community of support at the University of Texas School of Law and increasing representation, awareness and education with regards to diversity and Asian American contributions to the field of law. ALSA works closely with other minority groups, student organizations, and bar associations to coordinate a variety of educational, professional, and social events. We welcome all law students and take pride in the diversity of our organization, which represents a variety of ethnicities and nationalities.

We are one of the most active Asian law student organizations in the country. Every year, we host a number of major events, including law firm career panels, a resume and job search workshop, and a mentorship program with successful local lawyers. We also participate in a variety of pro bono and community service projects, including a habitat for humanity building project. Additionally, we host a number of academic seminars to promote the success of our members, which in the past has included an exam strategy session by the grand chancellor of the class of 2011 (highest GPA in the class), and a journal write-on seminar by associate editors of the Texas Law Review. ALSA is also very active socially. We have a number of exciting social events, including our annual banquet, happy hours, dim sum, and karaoke nights. The relationships built through ALSA have created a strong alumni network of professionals in Texas and spread throughout the world, and we welcome new members to join us in connecting into and ultimately, being part of, that network.

We hope you will join us as we continue to expand our presence at the University of Texas. See you at our many upcoming events!

Yours sincerely,
